Delete your account

You can delete your RoomPin account and the personal data tied to it at any time. There are two ways to do it: directly in the app, or by sending us a request. This applies to the RoomPin website at roompin.in and the RoomPin apps for Android and iPhone, which share one account.
Option 1 Delete it yourself in RoomPin (fastest)
If you can still sign in:
- Open RoomPin and go to your Profile page.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is removed immediately and permanently (see below for what we keep).
Option 2 Request deletion by email
If you've removed the app or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete your account for you:
Send the request from the email address on your account, or tell us the email or phone number you signed up with, so we can confirm it's really you. We'll verify your request and delete the account as soon as we can confirm ownership, and in any case within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and profile: nobody can see your profile or contact you through RoomPin any more.
- Your profile photo and all of your listings or search and any photos.
- Your saved preferences and unread/inbox state.
- Your registered notification (device) tokens, so the app stops sending you push notifications.
What is kept, and why
- Conversations you had with other people stay in their chat history, but your side is anonymised: your profile shows as "Deleted user," and your name, email, and phone are not shown. This is so the person you spoke with doesn't lose their own conversation record.
- A record of your sign-up: your name, email address, phone number, account type (owner or tenant), and the network address (IP) and device type you signed up from.
- A copy of each listing or search you posted, without the photos.
- A log of account actions (such as sign-ups, edits and deletions), kept for one year.
We keep these records for security, to prevent fraud and misuse (for example, someone who was banned signing up again), and as a record of what was posted on RoomPin. They are not shown to other users. If you have a question about them, email us at contact@roompin.in.
Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted it can't be recovered, and we can't restore your listings, search, or settings. If you only want to take a break, you can pause your listing or search instead of deleting your account.
